Hi Andreas,
you can do in the following way to insert a unit -
1) when you create a new field like width in the field label you can write width [mm]
so in the frontend you have the unit. please look at the attached screenshot.

I search a option to inserat a unit in my Checkoutprocess or Emailtemplates.
Width: 100 mm
Pieces: 2000 Stk.
Sort: 2 Sorts
