I have the same problem, after uploading the .xlsx or .xls it goes back to the field without my list and with "field type" empty... I've tested this with a very basic excel file.

sorry for the delay of giving you an answer.
Regarding you problem with list fields, we tried to implement your file in our local environment,and everything works perfectly.

I'm not able to load values of list input filed from excel. File used is in attachments.

After loading the file, I get the field page without list values and "field type" empty
