Hi Wayne,

Is the fee fixed (for example: 100 for each product), does it change for each product? or does it change based on other parameters?

I think the best solution is to use the default Qty of WooCommerce and than use something else to add the fee, for example this plugin:

it.wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-extra-fee-option/

I think you can find other plugins, but if doesn't fit you, you can use WooCommerce API:

docs.woocommerce.com/document/add-a-surc...ckout-uses-fees-api/

Let me know,
Best regards,
Enrico

Enrico,

I am unable to send the URL...the entire site is not available to the outside world yet. I have attached the spreadsheet that is used however.

The products we offer are customizable which means we have to reconfigure the machinery and manufactoring processes for each product. This reconfiguration requires a one-time fee per order.
If the customer orders one custom item they receive the fee one time.
If the customer orders two separate custom items they receive the fee two times.
However, if the customer orders more than one of the same custom item in the same order they only receive the fee one time.

That is what I am trying to figure out how to do.

I am currently doing it in the spreadsheet by adding a Qty field to the calculator and setting the underlying simple product to single item orders only (removing the woocommerce quantity roller).
This gets the price I want, but causes woocommerce to only see a single item in the order which then does not calculate shipping correctly.

Any ideas?

Hi Wayne,

Could you write the url of the calculator that you have configured?

So that I can better understand the problem

Best regards,
Enrico

This is less a technical issue and more of a how-to question. I need to be able to share the same quantity value between the calculator and woo-commerce. For example: I am using the calculator to price custom items where the first item is substantially more than the second item due to machine setup and process configuration. If you order one custom widget the price may be $100, but if you order the cost of each widget after the first one maybe only $30. To accomplish this I set the woo-commerce simple product inventory single item only checkbox to ON. I also added a numeric field to the woo-price-calculator that maps to a qty field my spreadsheet. With these additions I can determine the correct pricing for custom items where more than one is ordered.

However this configuration prevents woo-commerce from calculating the correct shipping since it thinks only one item is all that is ever being ordered.

How can I share the desired quantity between woo-commerce and woo-price-calculator?

Thanks,

Wayne
